Banding Machinery / Selection Guidelines

How to find the appropriate Bander for the customer:

What is a banding machine? A bander places a paper or plastic band around a packet, bundle or package to keep it snugly secured for packaging, shipping, in process transfer, storage or any other variety of reasons.

BENEFITS OF AN ARCH ?
An arch provides support to the banding material. Conditions are seldom ideal in any facility. Wind and air currents and humidity all effect unsupported banding material, causing downtime. An arch eliminates those concerns. Additionally, it allows for larger packages, multiple bands per package and the fastest operation.

ABILITY TO USE PAPER AND PLASTIC ?
Customer needs will vary. The best machine is one that allows flexibility in meeting a variety of needs.
Customers will specify different banding materials; a bander must work with either paper or plastic banding.

HEAT SEALED BANDS ?
The most consistent and inexpensive sealing method available today is heat sealed banding. Unlike the alternative Ultra Sonic sealing systems on the market, heat sealing allows the use of the widest variety and the lowest cost materials. Replacement cost of heat sealing heads is ten times less than ultra sonic heads.

PHOTO EYE & FOOT PEDAL ?
A photo eye table switch is necessary to enhance speed and a foot pedal allows the versatility to work with difficult to handle products.

HIGH SPEED ?
With the correct machine, up to 40 bands per minute is standard. The ability to use a machine from the front or back gives the potential for two operators to work on the same machine and maximize production.

HIGH RELIABLITY ?
High reliability is a by-product of good design and engineering. Simple operation and solid components are necessary characteristics of a good machine.

COMPETITIVE PRICE ?
There is a machine for every job and budget. Invest in the machine that best matches customer needs.

BANDING ROLL SIZE ?
Machines with Large Roll capacity allow greater productivity between roll changes. The standard for roll length is 1500 meter (4910’). With more material on each roll the price per meter/foot is reduced.

COMPUTER CONTROLLED ?
A PLC based banding machine will allow the customer to look to the future. Whether complete or partial automation is planned for the banding application, a PLC based stand-alone bander will allow for simple and reliable integration into any automated system.
